Visiting the ‘Left Behind’ Children in China

With employment in rural China becoming scarcer, parents have been forced to move to cities to find work. This has resulted in around 60 million children being left behind to fend for themselves, whilst their parents seek opportunities away from home to provide a better life for their family.
For the last five years, HSBC volunteers have been visiting seven boarding schools in the mountainous and remote areas of Gansu Province to teach, provide health support and most importantly, to simply spend time with these children.

HSBC NOW brings you stories from our colleagues around the world.
