Climate Change Impact in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change impacts. Almost every year the country suffers from major natural calamities which take a big toll on the local people. With help from local NGOs they have found innovative solutions. In drought-prone regions, the sufferers have learned to produce vermi compost to make the ground fertile again which has increased their harvest. People in the flood affected regions have learned to raise plinths in clusters which provide safety from floods. They don’t have to relocate frequently anymore they have started cultivating vegetables and rearing goats on the elevated land.
