Giant tortoise thought to be extinct discovered in Galapagos
A tortoise thought to be a Chelonoidis phantasticus, a species believed to have gone extinct about a century ago, has been discovered during an expedition to Fernandina Island in Ecuador’s Galapagos archipelago.
