Greta Thunberg sets sail on zero-carbon Atlantic voyage

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has set sail from Plymouth on what could be her most daunting challenge yet – crossing the Atlantic in a solar-powered racing yacht. ‘I feel a bit seasick and it’s not going to be comfortable but that I can live with,’ said the 16-year-old climate activist ahead of her two-week voyage. Thunberg is making her transatlantic trip onboard the 60-foot yacht Malizia II to avoid travelling by air. The yacht is fitted with solar panels and underwater turbines that produce electricity onboard, with the aim of making the journey zero-carbon.
