Plastic Pollution: Ink pens replace plastic ball-point pens in Kerela
The state of Kerela has been witnessing an ambitious drive to replace plastic ball-point pens with ink pens. The move had been initiated by the Kerela state government and many of the schools, colleges, artists, civil society groups and individuals have also been promoting this environment-friendly way of living.
The excessive use of disposable ballpoint pens in schools and colleges contributes to the mounting pile of plastic garbage and causes huge damage to the environment.
Although, plastic bags and bottles are widely talked about, these pens are also a danger to the environment and more awareness needs to be created.
