The importance of banning hydraulic fracturing (fracking): Siena Lorraine at TEDxVillageGate

Siena Lorraine, a nine-year-old 4th grader, strongly believes in the importance of saving the environment for all living creatures. Last year, her Christmas wish was for everyone in her family to recycle. Because she explained the importance of this, all of her family members are now recycling. When she was in kindergarten, she encouraged her classroom to recycle. A few weeks later, they got a recycling bin. When she goes to the beach or walks in the neighborhood, she always cleans up any litter that she sees. She is now moving on to the bigger issue of fracking.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
